

OUR MANDATES AND PURPOSE
(a) To promote and programme emerging composers in combination with the pre-existing body of repertoire that comprises the rich history of Canadian Art Music.
(b) To strengthen communities across Canada by connecting the general public with representative works of Canadian Composers.
(c) To instil the value of Canadian Art Music in young people and encourage its preservation through performances and score study.
RECENT RELEASE
The Canadian Composers Orchestra recently recorded Daniel Pelton's new work for String Trio: Tuning a Ukulele. Daniel is an award-winning saxophonist and composer currently living in Calgary, Alberta. Daniel began playing saxophone at the age of nine and pursued his musical studies at the University of Calgary, graduating with his Bachelor of Music degree in 2018. This performance was made possible by the Ontario Arts Council.

Daniel Pelton is an award-winning saxophonist and composer. Daniel pursued his musical studies at the University of Calgary, graduating with his Bachelor of Music degree in 2018. Daniel has made it his goal to create music that pushes boundaries while still prioritizing a positive audience experience, and to create space for others to do the same.
Nicholas ma
Nicholas Ma is a pianist-composer studying at McGill University, pursuing a double major in Piano Performance and Composition in addition to a minor in Music Theory. Some of his recent activities include receiving a 2022 SOCAN Young Composer Award and serving as Vice-President for the McGill Association of Student Composers for the 2022-23 year.
